I might have missed that, but I saw Drednaw use a Gmax normal move against the Sobble evo (Sizzile?), who took about 2/3 damage from a crit. It was a couple levels higher but I cant imagine it's a bulky pokemon.

because non d-max hitmonlee has 50hp and 50def and it got crit by dredmaw stab dmax move and lived. hitmonlee has 110 spdef and drednaw has 50spatk so it HAS to be special

Doesn't matter. Gym Leaders should be hard. They should have something to back up their rank.

An unfixed flaw is still a flaw. HMs had been a recurring annoyance until S/M ditched them entirely.

this is literally standard for every single 2nd gym leader, hell she is better than a majority of them. Compared to Staryu/Starmie, two cocoons and a scyther, makuhita and machop, Cherubi/turtwig/Roserade, Herdier/Watchog, and tyrunt/amaura. Nessa ranks like 1st or 2nd among 2nd gym leaders

Why does she have such a shit team, I'm still baffled why they don't design Pokemon to fit the gym leaders character/theme. I think Nessa should've had a team fitting around her (at least apparent design and character);

- Lifeguard Pokemon (Buizel or a new one entirely perhaps even re-purposing Eiscue since its name sounds like "rescue")
- Lapras
- Plesiosaur (either some sort of Gyarados/Milotic of the generation or one of the fossils)

First of all kids don’t have to pick the hard difficulty if they don’t want to, second of all catering to both your young audience and your adult audience is absolutely going to be more profitable than catering exclusively to one or the other.
