>>41016315>ALL OF THE THINGS YOU'RE COMPLAINING ABOUT ARE ALSO IN YOUR FAVORITE POKEMON GAMES.Sure, but not all of them at once, like in Sword and Shield. As fans we've grown used to ceding SOME features in exchange for new ones in an equivalent exchange. Lose secret bases, gain festival plaza. Lose battle frontier, gain battle tower. Lose following Pokémon, gain animated sprites. It's always been like this.
But NO GAME up until this generation has dropped ANY amount of Pokémon. Not even the "restart" Black and White, it still had them programmed into the game. Do you know why? Because the Pokémon franchise IS its characters. It's CALLED "POKÉMON". It's ABOUT Pokémon. Pokémon are features, Pokémon are gameplay styles, Pokémon are everything in Pokémon. Cutting even one Pokémon is more of an offense than removing the ability to walk because the game is ABOUT Pokémon, not about walking. Going on a journey is a story aspect, but not the primary element. Cutting Pokémon should NEVER be an option in a franchise whose entire concept is "CATCH ALL OF THE THINGS".
Drop postgame. Drop challenge. Drop effort and interesting areas and good graphics. Drop fucking WALKING if you want, but for God's sake, Pokémon cannot drop THE POKÉMON.
How is that hard to understand?! It'd be like if FIFA 2020 dropped the football.
