You literally explained the people boycotting the game more than anything with the “catching a mon they probably won’t even use” line. Let’s be honest, most of the people boycotting the game are only doing it cus their favourite got cut amd their rightfully upset, not because the game’s lacking in content or effort (which i agree wholeheartedly with you guys that it is lacking). I’m picking up the game because I think it looks like fun. Simplistic, albeit but fun nonetheless.

My favorite Pokémon is in the game though. What people don't seem to understand is that by drastically reducing the amount of Pokémon available in the game, you're not only limiting your choice, but also the pool of pokemon you can fight against. Imagine running into the same limited pool of fully evolved, viable pokemon whenever you go to the Battle Tower or online.

It's a shitshow, I wish it were better, I don't expect it will, and I'm part of the problem, but there's not a lot I can do about it. Borrow it, pirate it, buy it new/used, what does it really matter?

The actual reason why people are boycotting the game is not just because it doesn't have their favorite Pokemon in it it's also because gamefreak has no excuse and lied about cutting content in the game for so called more "optimization". I'm not buying it because it's a lazy ass game done by a rich as hell company who can afford to add in shit a ton of content in it as well.

To be fair, XY was a bigger mess but it got a free pass on the account of it being the first 3d mainline title. But they definitely pushed their luck and the pokemon go shit was probably the beginning of it. Since pokemon is a zombified cash cow, how would they justify putting in effort when the masses will eat up a mobile game just because Kanto? I feel like if sales are mediocre they might make a recovery but probably not

I didn't care at all for the dexit announcement(I like keeping my pokemon in their original save file and making fresh teams for new regions so it doesn't effect me in the slightest) but graphically these games just look atrocious. I'd like to be hopeful and say that the story will make up for it but its fucking pokemon, I'm probably just going to skip this one unless they fix it. hopefully they put a bit more effort into the sinnoh remakes.

I still don't understand why the fuck they decided to cut the pokémon, they're obviously reusing the 3DS models, which is ok and we knew it was going to happen, they were made with futureproofing in mind, but then suddenly they decided to not use over half of them and the supposed extra effort saved by this move doesn't reflect in anything else in this game
