I've been wanting a Platinum remake for years, but it dawned on me that they'll fuck it up by including a ton of unneeded cutscenes that won't even look cool. I only wanted it for the graphics updates, but I'll just replay Platinum as it is now

I would imagine the average /vp/ user does, as DPPt is currently the most popular gen, and we're shifting into the "BW is actually the best one" generation. Every few years the most popular Gen changes. About 10 years ago Johto was the most popular, about 5 years ago Hoenn was the most popular, we are currently in the Sinnoh age, and the Unova age is rapidly approaching. In 2023 we'll see posts on here about XY saying, "Bros, remember when Pokemon peaked???". Then in 2028 or so it will be the same but with Sun and Moon. Screenshot this.

I really don't think anybody is of the opinion XY is the peak. I don't think it'll ever be that way either.

Also, I think it's been very common opinion (not the most common opinion) that either Gen V or II are the best for a pretty long time now.

If Sinnoh remakes come next year they will be rushed as fuck. Sinnoh would benefit from a faster engine but I also don't want them to butcher one of the better regions. Places like Mt. Coronet are why they started making the maps so linear in the first place due to kids getting lost.
