Don't ask me how I discovered this, but the company you know as Game Freak is nothing more than a front for a long-running, elaborate social experiment in determining the exact quantity of shit a fanbase will take before completely abandoning the franchise. The first five generations were phase 1 of this experiment: establishing a successful franchise with a devoted fanbase. Gen 6 was the start of phase 2: start pushing the fans' buttons, see where they draw the line. Everything they've done so far that pissed off the fans was deliberate and planned years in advance. Phase 3 will start with gen 11, if the fans haven't all been driven away by then. And if you think phase 2 is bad so far, just wait until you see what they have planned for phase 3.
