Probably more to do with locations. The stones for the other 5 could be in early game but the locations of the moss/ice rocks often mean you're locked out of Glaceon and Leafeon for 80% of the game.

I'm so glad they didn't ruin Espeon and Umbreon's evolution methods. Glad about Leafeon and Glaceon, though, since GF was always obsessed with putting their rocks in the later part of the games.

No they don't. It's not difficult or annoying at all. People who want to make everything sterile and bland by taking away unique (and easy) ways of evolving pokemon are annoying, though.

Dawn Stone is actually Awakening Stone, and it is not compatible to Dusk Stone. Dawn Stone awakens a certain species of one gender to their true potential, such as male Kirlia being swordsmen. Shiny Stone is the true counterpart to Dusk Stone, as they are the Light and Darkness Stones, respectively, in Japanese.

Friendship evolutions are unironically my favorite. They’re comfy and fun. I like how they can happen when you don’t expect, and how it shows the bond between Pokémon and trainer.
