The meta looks way more interesting than ever before with power creep being way more all over the place instead of concentrated to megas/z-moves, the story looks better than gen 7, the graphics are (while subpar and lazy for modern standards) among the best Pokémon has ever seen (battle revolution, SwSh, LGPE), a better transformation battle gimmick, and lots of QoL changes that you may or may not like.
