Not sure if this is already public knowledge, but from analyzing the data and playing the dump I learned that in most towns and routes, it will always be daytime.
Only in the Wild Area, a few select routes and two towns, the game switches to night when you're playing at night time. Everywhere else in the game, it'll always be daytime.
It seems like they weren't able to program in dynamic times everywhere in the game in time before release.
