>>41048847>X and YIt had a lot of problems, megas were a good idea ruined by power creep because you had to give legendaries or already OU pokemon megas for some reason, but it had a solid region with solid pokemon in it, and great online features. The endgame was a huge letdown from gen 5, but as cliche as it is to say it's now looking far better in comparison to what we have now because it had the Friend Safari, which was fun.
>ORASWhile these games are cripplingly easy (why the fuck do you get a mega legendary half way through the game), and there are certainly remade parts that were totally half-assed (The battle frontier project has started, not even an attempt to remake the Game Corner with a minigame instead of slots, etc.), it still felt like someone wanted to make a good game. The Delta Episode, while the alternate universe/Zinnia shit is annoying, was amazing for the fact that it brought Deoxys into the main storyline, and being able to fight out in space. Then there's Wally; while his battle theme is possibly the worst song in the franchise, the battle itself is climactic as fuck and adds a lot to a character who was previously just some random tutorial kid. The resort island you get for completing the game, while you don't get a friend safari, is neat for having its own daycare and several move tutors; again, a far cry from previous end game rewards, but a HUGE improvement to what we got next.
>Sun and MoonFucking awful. The worst games in the franchise. Playing through this game genuinely killed my enjoyment in Pokemon as a franchise for a solid two years; I'll never look at Pokemon the same again because of it.
>USUMI didn't play it, but it at least seems like an improvement to Sun and Moon, but I genuinely don't think you could've made a worse game.
Oh, not to mention the in-game meta in gen 7 is just fucked thanks to ultra beasts. I like Ultra Beasts conceptually, but they're almost all completely broken one way or another.
