Sun and Moon were honestly the point where I really started to feel like the OSTs weren't stacking up anymore either. There were still some good tracks in there like Vast Poni Canyon, but most of it was forgettable to me. Then USM came along and introduced a load of outright awful tracks and I knew it was over.

Battle theme is okay, sounds like most Trainer battle theme in the series so I keep forgetting how it actually sounds. Besides, Smash kinda make me hate this theme

Elite four theme is shit, it's like they were trying to build something but failed miserably right at the middle of the song. I'm still waiting for an actual good Elite Four theme like Gen 3 had

Shalour City is just boring and garbage

The rest are fine, some of them are really good and others are okay. XY had a decent OST overall and I enjoyed some of the Routes themes too bad the game is literal trash

It's not identical, but it's definitely derived from it. The organ solo at 2:25 is original to the SAV and isn't in the PC-88 version. The instrumentation is basically the same too.

They do diverge at 3:44 on the SAV / 1:51 on Nexus, though, and stay very different until the loop point.
