They did it to shill home, it's gonna be used in conjunction with some new game meant to be the de facto way comp pokemon is played.

Nothing here is new. We got a set of new pokemon and a long hallway of a region, and that's it. Everything else this game calls a selling point can be found in other entries and done better.
