The mentally deficient children Game Freak considers the target demographic DO NOT EXIST. And actual children hate these games because they are trash. They are the opposite of engaging. They are boring pieces of shit that test a kid's patience far too many times.
The sort of kid these games seem to be aimed to are kids too young to read anyway, or kids with mental disabilities that have trouble dressing themselves. That's the sort of kid that would need these idiot-proof tutorials and handholding. How is a kid like that even supposed to pick up the console and play the fucking game?
If the modern Pokemon games had been the start of the series and the franchise didn't have tons of adult fanboys willing to buy every entry, the series would've gone to shit after X/Y. Kids would've despised this shitty ass series.
Children only liked Pokemon back in the day because the games were good and made for kids. They were fun children's games. They weren't made for retards and had some semblance of difficulty despite being piss easy, which made them engaging for the target audience. All of that is lost now. The new games are pieces of crap that no kid would ever enjoy.
