Feeling bullish, so 20mil. If SM could hit 16 I think SwSh will hit 20+ easily with the big popularity of the Switch and how hungry Switch owners are for games even if they haven't played Pokemon before. Lots of new blood from Switch success and Let's Go in general.

Only thing I think really hurting them this time is their advertisement has kind of sucked. Doesn't feel like as much hype has been drummed up in recent months leading to the release, and the damning leaks/complaints have been been able to have more impact in the absence of hype fueling too. (though still probably not enough to make a notable impact. Hope I'm wrong though)

Bullshit, Switch has way fewer units sold than the 3DS did when SM was launched. 20 mil would make it the 3rd best selling mainline pokemon games ever. GameFreak could have blown everyone out of the water with SWSH and it still wouldn't get PokeMania sales numbers.

The problem is that it's not on a cheap handheld. SM had a huge install base to work with and had a very low cost of entry for people who didn't own a 3DS beforehand. A Switch Lite is over twice the price of a 2DS circa 2016, and that's not even factoring in online.

BotW sold 16 with less market appeal and before Lite was a thing. Millions of Lites are going to be sold these holdays with potentially a pricedrop or bundle by next holiday.

At just under 12 million in 1 year LGPE is very likely to end up the best selling remake. Sw/Sh will likely be the best selling games since GS.
