There's nothing difficult beyond the first two gyms where you're limited by Pokemon availability

Levelling in all the gym leaders is retardedly spiked. You need to grind for like an entire day and have a full team just to get past a gym. have only played his gold and black hacks though so idk if its true for the other hacks. He just has a terrible problem with balancing his hacks. I have to catch a mon specifically to beat each gym based on type and overlevel it by almost five levels to get past this shit.

Oops, just realized you said "non-Drayano."

There's not many hacks like that, but in 3DS games you can pick and choose the files at your leisure. Meaning you could replace the wild encounters file with the patched version, then encrypt the game. You can do this in the DS games too but it's a little bit more work.

Some battles are kinda bullshit but they're still pretty much doable since you can use lots of bullshit yourself (Contrary grass/dragon Serperior), basically improve thyself

I've been playing Renegade Platinum and VoltWhite 2 and this is pretty inaccurate in my experience.
>Renegade Platinum has an NPC dedicated to giving experience and EVs in Solaceon town, and chaining is easy grinding
>VoltWhite has Audino, breeders (and a breeder with a Chansey after Driftveil), and Hoenn gym leaders
In both games, I had a stable of 8-10 Pokemon which I swapped depending on the gym. I personally appreciate the level of challenge and by the time I hit the 6th gym I felt like it had helped refine my team in a good way. I finished VW2 with:
>Lumineon (Ace)
>Sawsbuck
>Zebstrika
>Cofagrigus
>Mandibuzz
>Mienshao
With a bunch of other Pokemon a little lower level in the PC. I'd just swap out Pokemon like Steelix if I was going to the water gym, etc.

I am stuck at the 5th gym in his HG hack. Blazeblack i'm stuck at elesa because grinding is just a cunt to do. Audino never shows up and doesn't give enough experience.

This one's actually balanced poorly because there's no trainer rematches, no good grinding on wild Pokemon, and the gym battles are still very difficult. Existing problem with HGSS that should've been solved.
Also, you're playing on emulator. Value your time and just use speedup and a code to spawn shaking grass. There is no reason not to do this, it doesn't compromise the game at all.

No, his 2nd generation hacks are just poorly balanced because of issues with the original game that weren't resolved. They're the weakest hacks and I've personally never been able to finish them despite loving his other stuff.

Renegade Platinum is my first time playing a romhack. It's harder than the original game, but I've never found it frustrating. Playing on set too.

You what, SGSS are much better than HGSS because the game doesn't suddenly shoot up 10 levels once you beat the E4, but takes you up slowly. The only time I had to grind was to beat Red and complete the dex to get Arceus. BBVW wishes it was as polished as SGSS.

I don't think there's many out there period. Scripting changes and difficulties means that the only hacks for gen 5 are all-Pokemon/difficulty hacks. There's Pure White/Pitch Black, Yin Black/Yang White, Dark Black/Light White, maybe some hanging about on gbatemp or projectpokemon, and that's all I know about.
