You can run in grass trying to find the shiny but every time the game rolls a 1/4096 shiny it ends up being an overworld encounter you CAN'T EVEN TELL is shiny. It's no longer possible to do random encounters effectively

Overworld pokemon in general weren't a thing before LGPE. Static encounters are obviously different
Spinoff games did it too btw. Look at XD pokespot encounters. Pokemon Rumble even. This is just a huge joke

Is there a single good reason to include extra code restricting starters from being shiny? No. Yet again, Game Freak is just purposefully making shiny hunting worse in this gen
