Anyone else feel Intelleon’s finger gun attack actually looks kind of lame? I don’t get how it “fixes” the design

No, I think finger guns as intelleon’s signature move are just underwhelming in general. I thought previous starters had neat-looking signature moves even if I didn’t like their designs. But this one basically looks like a human in a lizard costume just standing and pointing at something.

Even if I don't like Cinderace, it has a neat moveset and Pyro Ball's animation is great.
Inteleon has literally nothing worthy, besides how ugly it is.

I don't think it is pulled off well at all. The water simply manifests in front of its finger. Its hands arent designed to convey any kind of gun or cannon design, however simple or contrived it would be. I feel like they just thought itd be a cool idea with kids and tacked it on its attack animation without actually showing it through the design itself.
