You can run weather ball+either sun to smoke ferrothorn, rain to blast rhyperior, or hail to take out flygon. Honestly seems like a fun option, at least for Jolteon, whose movepool is so sparse otherwise.

Maybe HP got culled cause they're going to finally fix it in how it works? Being tied to IVs has always been stupid, and it was still lacking Fairy.

I know, shouldn't be too overly optimistic. It'd be nice if that is the reason for it plus if they finally give us a physical variant of HP too.

Yes. I really like Heliolisk so it's unfortunate that it only gets what it needs in a game I'm not going to get. I'm still wondering how Showdown is going to implement the missing Pokemon in their "all Pokemon" formats.

I'm not too worried about expanded right away, I unironically want to give the culled dex a try for a bit. Weather Ball becoming a TM was a great thing for a lot of mons, but it's a shame Sun is not going to be as good as the other weathers after losing its best setter.

I'd guess they're going to leave them as they were as of USUM. This means things like Aggron not getting Body Check.

Return/Frustration are niche skills on niche Pokemon who most of the time are better using Double Edge or similar.

HP was a shit move that made coverage trivial for special attackers

Pursuit was cool but only existed because psychics were broken which hasn't been the case for like 4 generations.

Plenty of physical normal-types would run Return when Double Edge was unavailable, or when they didn't want to suffer recoil damage. Diggersby, for instance, doesn't get Double Edge. Its best moves are Strength or Facade now.
