From everything we've seen, is it already decided that Gen 8 is the worst out of all the Gens? /vp/ has already torn apart newly introduced gens in the past but is SwSh any different than the previous releases?

SwSh have all the problems XY had (too easy, shit post game, handholding, etc.) and much, much more. Also XY genuinely did try to make a big technical leap onto the new hardware, while this game they lie about doing the same while reusing XY assets.

XY sucked but this time they went above and beyond to make it shit.

X and Y get a pass for being bad because they legitimately had to redesign everything from the ground up to work in 3d. In fact, I'm honestly surprised they didn't do the dex cut back THEN.
With how much of a leap hardware wise the switch is from the 3ds, gen 8 is so incredibly lackluster it sucks.

At least the put in the effort to create completely brand new 3D models for every Pokemon in X/Y and took the leap from 2D and into 3D on the 3DS.

SwSh can't even maintain the status quo on more powerful hardware. It's saying something when the devs put in more effort into X/Y than into SwSh.

I really don't ask for much from a Pokémon game. I can overlook nearly every flaw and still enjoy the game as long as it's Pokémon. I liked Megas. I like Z-Moves. I bought USUM. I bought Let's Go Eevee. I even like most of the designs of the pokémon this gen, designs have never been my issue, I can embrace Pokémon of all kinds. But cutting Pokémon was my last fucking straw. I could accept that LGPE only had the original 151+Meltan/Melmetal since "muh kantoooo", but Galar doesn't get that excuse. Now I'm not so forgiving on GameFreak's laziness anymore.
So yeah, I was excited for Galar back in February but now Gen 8 can immediately fuck itself. I'm holding out and hoping that GF will realize the hell they wrought by cutting pokemon and that they'll fix their mistake, but until we can truly "catch 'em all" again I'm not buying another game from them.
