This sucks ass. This was a real sleeper hit too. Probably because it was poorly distributed. I honestly hadn't given this move much thought before, but earlier this year I was experimenting and I discovered that it passes through Protect. Long story short you could have a +1 Kartana or a +1 Tapu Bulu in complete safety, so long as your support mon didn't die before getting it off. And if your Rototiller user was faster (Dugtrio for example) your mon could attack with +2 the second turn.

I also hate this being gone. Worked well on trapping sets. I don't think its a coincidence that Gamefreak also decided to introduce Soul Dew or whatever its called this gen. Gotta shill the new moves I guess.

To some degree I can understand removing Return/Frustration since they basically invalidated most Normal type moves and even Hidden Power because it was probably too flexible, but removing early-game flavor moves like Pin Missile or unique gimmick moves like Heal Order or Heart Stamp makes no sense to me other than the fact it allowed them to be lazy and not have to animate these moves anymore for future entries.

Just another bullet point in the list of reasons why this game was clearly a rushed piece of garbage.

I bred for a 64-ish power HP Fighting back in Diamond on Porygon when Porygon-Z was hyped as some sort of meta-god. Also bred HP Ice Mega Manetric and HP Fire Technician Roserade in gen 6. Probably some others I'm forgetting too.

I actually did soft reset to get good Hidden Powers on various Legendaries, and I checked Hidden Power on bred Pokemon pretty often if it was an important part of their set (see Greninja).

DESU I don't really mind them removing the need to be concerned about that, I agree there should've just been a way to change it, but instead they went with the route of just removing it entirely. GG Gamefreak.

I mean, I'm sure I won a handful of battles on Battle Spot thanks to getting a good Hidden Power on some of the Pokemon I used. In that sense, yeah, it was worth it.

In any case it's not really a problem if they want to add QoL features and remove tedium like breeding/resetting for HP, but that's clearly not what this is.
