I can understand why, because it's still the new game and having 3 one-per-battle mechanics would be totally overkill.
But dynamax/gigantamax is a terribly unnecessary gimmick. I'd rather just have Z-Moves.

Megas and Z moves are removed mechanics, the items themselves aren't in the game, it'd be like complaining that showdown doesn't let you use Berserker Gene in Gen 7 OU or that there's no Triple Battle metagame
I remember when people here thought Megas and Z Moves were a mistake and suddenly they miss them. Personally I'd rather just have Galar Dex OU and NatDex OU, if I want to play with megas and Z moves I'll just play gen 7 OU like I can with other past gens
if you really want to I'm sure other servers will implement an "Everything Goes" metagame too

Z-Moves were perfect. They were a one-time use that could destroy even a tanky Pokémon, but if used at the wrong time, you could completely fuck up using it. My only issue with Z-Moves is that you can't skip the animation without skipping all attack animations.
Mega Evolution and Gigantamax should be dropped.

Dynamax is a fine mechanic (I don't think the IT GETS BIGGER presentation is any good, but in terms of how it works it's fine), basically it just incorporates Z-Moves anyway.

Better idea would be to just take all the existing Z-Moves and fold them in with the Max mechanic instead of "Max Moves" (or, since Max Moves already exist, add them in alongside them) as a thing you get by Dynamaxing instead of by holding a Z-Crystal.

We literally had elemental gems in Gen 5 that served almost the exact same purpose offensively as Z-Moves but without the unskippable cutscenes and all the other bullshit. Just a clean 50% damage boost for the first move of any typing you like, nice and simple.

Dynamax is worse toward the health of the game than Z-Moves are. You get 3 of them in a row, they mostly have busted secondary effects, and you can still hold an item. Gyarados is going to be even more of a monster now that it gets 3 130BP Flying STAB moves to use that each boost speed by 1, on top of Moxie. The snowballing is going to be ridiculous, Z-moves were a nuke while Max moves are a nuke with the fallout afterward.

If double Band is ×2.25, a lot of people will use it as it will simply blow a hole in anything.

Scarf would probably be better sure, but consider that nothing is going to enjoy a "double band" hit from Darm, even if they live.

Yes but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing, just a meta shakeup. The fact that all mons can do it, and they keep their initial move-typing coverage when they do it, and also it insta-buffs HP and heals means that you can always respond to the presence of that nuclear command with your own pretty easily. It won’t be functionally identical to Z-moves but the fact that it can be pulled out by any mon at any time to good use changes the balance considerations.

I definitely think it's bad for the game. It doesn't matter if every mon can do it because that puts everything into the same power levels they are now. The only ones getting benefits they wouldn't already have are Pokemon with movepools full of low-accuracy or two-turn moves like Kyu-B or the aforementioned Gyarados. You're going to want those things to make use of your one Dynamax per game because they'll gain the greatest benefit.

This is another reason I think it's bad. If your opponent is using it, you immediately have to use yours and play on the backfoot due to the duration. So you're down a mon from the nuke going off, and have to play damage control right away by matching it with your own dynamax mon.

I know I keep going back to Gyarados; I'm sure there will be other broken Pokemon to take advantage of max moves. Keep in mind how difficult it will be to switch around on this mon; it will have +1 speed after each turn, and a Moxie boost if it manages to get a kill. Good luck fighting back.

The whole point of a wallbreaker is to punch a hole in something as soon as you can. Garmaniatan can basically OHKO the two premier walls immediately. Most wallbreakers need a turn or two to accomplish that. also regular Darmanitans most used set is Band Typical /vp/ showing their lack of knowledge on competitive, lol.

Ideally the gimmicks would all share 1 usage. So using a Z-Move would then prevent you from Mega Evolving and Dynamaxing.

But I think "treat it as though the 445 cut Pokemon can be transferred to SWSH but don't get any new moves" is the simplest solution.

Gengar is very frail so getting an oportunity to setup np is very hard not to mention it isnt a very hard pokemon to revenge kill as any scarfer should be able to do so, only more fatter teams will actually have a hard time against this.

If every pokemon will be special, no one will really be.
That was the biggest part of the Megas, they were given to weak pokemon to bring them on par with the top tier. Then ORAS came and they fucked all up giving Megas to laready OP pokemons too...
