>>41107546Yeah but vaguely following a theme isn't enough for me. Blastoise follows the theme of "shooting water" but still looks out of place from Wartortle because of their designs.
I guess I'll explain myself a bit better, pointing out what exactly I don't like about the design as an evolution of Rowlet:
>barn owl mask got completely dropped for random ugly marks despite being the part of the line that ties it the most to spirits/assassins (but a slapped-on ghost type will surely compensate, right guys?) >on that note, Decidueye isn't a barn owl anymore for some reason - supposedly to look more humanoid so it could be in the fighting game>went from a simple but effective concept of shooting knife-like feathers while flying to being stuck on the ground using actual man-made arrows, complicating the design a ton to achieve an objectively less effective and less dynamic resultSo of the three things you mentioned, one fails to deliver in its executions (the arrows), one is introduced by Decidueye and is in no way a continuation of Rowlet/Datrix (Robin Hood part) and the other actually got worse as the line went on (ghost aspect)
From what I can see there's nothing in its design that ties it to Rowlet outside of its general theme of shooting things and color scheme.
I hate a lot more things about the design like the freakish looking wings, but all that stuff has already been repeated ad nauseam. I actually think the Litten line suffers from similar problems, but I believe Litten and Torracat are the ones that should be changed to look a bit more anthropomorphic like they did with Scorbunny.
