Mints exist solely for shiny Pokemon and for weird edge cases like Toxtricity. You can control the nature of every single possible Pokemon (including Legendaries) you may need anyway, so you shouldn’t need them to begin with (aside from aforementioned shinies)

I was gonna object since i was thinking of the Battle Tree where it isn't too bad (Normal Battle Legend give like 20 additional BP and isn't THAT hard to reach, especially in doubles where the AI will misread threats and allow stuff like PorygonZ to set-up due going after a meatier partner and then get raped by Discharge or another move of your choice), then i remembered that SwSh supposedly lacks a equivalent.

I mean, i think that was how i BP farmed in SM, just doing Normal Doubles to beat Blue.

IIRC regular battles in maison and SM tree had stage 1 or 2 pokemon with shit AI and movesets. Super battles had decent sets on decent mons. I didn't know people wanted legendaries in the battle tree but it doesn't suprise me that gamefreak added that shit to make the game even easier.

SM restricted Legendaries in Battle Tree for Super and Normal both, USUM had unrestricted Normal and Restricted Super.

Honestly that is one thing USUM did really well, Legendaries always had this tendency to get cucked in these things, letting them into the casual mode so those that like the Legendaries can actually get to use them more in Single Player is a good thing.

Yeah I looked it up and both have super and single, just USUM doesn't restrict for normal.

Agreed that its nice to actually be able to use everything in one of the tree's, but not scaling everything to level 50 was so fucking retarded it ruined it for me

Honestly the nature mints and the bottlcaps and the transferring egg moves are all just there so you can make a competitive Gigantimax Pokemon since they can't be bred. You might as well just continue breeding for everything else cause it's honestly faster than the grind. Just get one ditto to 100 for perfect iv's and then breed away.

Anything that involves raising your stats and otherwise increasing a mon's power is progression. Breeding or collecting bottle caps and mints for IVs and Natures, EV training, leveling up, collecting BP for the best TMs and held items, grinding for hidden abilities with things like the DexNav. These are the things that make the game fun. Progression is fun, raising Pokemon is fun.
Once a Pokemon has been thoroughly minmaxed and optimizied, actually using it isn't nearly as much fun as the process of obtaining and raising it was.

Why is progression fun if you're not even going to enjoy the end result? I'd understand if the journey was entertaining or fun or thought provoking, but all you fucking do is ride around a bicycle praying to the RNG gods that you get a good mon for fucking hours.
