>>41113973ORAS is worse than XY, but only because the only thing it brought new to the table was a few more mega evolutions for older Pokemon, but still stomped on anything decent RSE had to offer.
XY, despite having a shitty gen of new pokemon to choose from, at least introduced:
Trainer Customization
Best Online Play Implementation so far (PSS)
Fairy Typing (which in a way, like Megas, modernized and really refreshed several older Pokemon like Azumarill, Clefable, etc)
Mega Evolutions (as a concept, which ORAS expanded on)
All mostly positive things for the series at large.
SM (and the worse USUM), is not better than ORAS, because at the very least ORAS had the decent Hoenn region, a few new desirable Megas (like Pidgeot and Beedrill) and an inoffensively bland storyline (which apparently was still enough to be miles better than the garbage SM/USUM shoveled).
Z-Moves negatively impacted the metagame at large, since most pokemon were capable of a 1-shot to their counter, so checking Pokemon became a guessing game/coin flip. The entire game was entirely railroaded and linear as fuck, even the lazy excuse for a "victory road", and the totem battles weren't any better than gym battles, particularly because if you had half a brain you had a STAB SE pokemon that would one-shot it, and those that didn't got outvalued every turn with extra pokemon summons, not to mention the worst framerates the games have EVER had.
Sw/Sh at the very least, despite pop-in issues, at least has more stable framerate than dipping into single digits during boss fights.
SM (regular) is at least better than Sw/Sh, but not by much. It's on the same level of shit (Densetsu no Kusoge) as USUM.
