Enemy team is a bunch of hackers/cyber terrorists whose goal is to release the ultimate cyber Pokemon on the world Missingno in order to incite mass destruction. Reverting the world to a stone age where the enemy team can hold majority/unanimous control over the worlds technology and rule. A division of Silph Co. dedicated to combating cyber terrorism is a part of the story and works with the player to make their leaps into cyberspace possible.

Game features the player going into the PC systems and a number of new digital Pokemon to fill in the environments and lore. As well as digital variants of existing Pokemon. Through the efforts and help of Silph Co you are able to bring these Pokemon out into the real world and bring your Pokemon into the cyberspace about 1/3rd of the way into the game. Before that point only the Porygon line will be able to do both and the game is designed around two halves of your team not being able to work together. Usual region design with secondary cyber world map that you enter through places like PCs or wifi routers, most of these are disconnected, but the largest cyber regions may have multiple access points. (Yes it is just the dark world from ALTTP)
