The only time where the Fire-type unambiguously lost the starter "war" was Gen VI. And even then, Greninja still got cucked out of what would've been its crowning moment by a Charizard. Is there any hope for a definite Grass-type victor in Gen IX or should Game Freak just cut the idea of starting with a Pokemon that isn't a Fire-type?
