You can cancel the preorder though nintendo support. They allowed refunds on eshop purchases for sword and shield.

A digital preorder makes no sense at all, they literally cannot out. If you want a special edition (or the double pack in SwSh's case) and/or any preorder bonuses, that's the only thing that makes sense to preorder any more.

I was going to get it either way, so I pre-ordered so I can download early. I don't trust reviewers anyway, most are paid off and watching a full play through of a game before buying ruins the experience.

Physical games don't make sense anymore, why pay a third party plus tax (I didn't pay tax, maybe others did), leave the house or pay for delivery just to get a game that can be loaded directly onto your system in an hour. Only special editions and collector items make physical copies worth getting
