>>41120495They're not great, but I think people really overstate their flaws. I find there to be ups and downs between them and Emerald, although Emerald does get the win in my book. Overall, I'd say ORAS are okay, just ABSOLUTELY underwhelming coming from HGSS. Hell, I'd say ORAS are better remakes than FRLG, which have nothing going for them besides the Sevii Islands.
Likewise, I Emerald gets too much praise from people. It was definitely a huge leap for the series and amazing for its time, but compared to generations 4 and 5 it feels like there's something lacking. Overall still one of the better Pokémon games, but I wouldn't call it anything more than "quite good".

I personally think some of these are too nitpicky, like the whole Exp Share thing, but my main issues are that they fail to give RSE the same treatment HGSS did for GSC. Content new to Emerald is cut instead of being reimagined and implemented, and there's not too much brand new content.
