In the older games they only had to do minor tileset changes to make houses look different, but even X&Y and Sun&Moon houses had minor differences, this is just lazy.

I'd honestly say it might even be easier than old tile interiors. Three colour variants of an empty room mesh, and a half dozen differently arranged props per interior. All they needed to do. Instead, they made this one super specifically super detailed room that obviously sticks out when it's reused.
