Pokémon fans are the only fanbase I know who can be given definitive proof that a company lied to their face and still come out trying to defend it.
Whenever EA, Bethesda or Activision get caught red handed lying they rightfully get dragged through hell and back.

They define themselves by the game. Being a 'pokemon fan' is part of their identity, rejecting the games for becoming shit would be like rejecting part of themselves. So instead they double down and worship its cock to protect their fragile egos. The problem is that for most of the world, pokemon was sold an introduced as a multimedia franchise, people who cared and followed the gen2-5 core games and see pokemon as a video game series are in a minority.

The majority of people defending the current state just don't care about the games and their actual quality as an interactive product, they just want their yearly pokemon fix. Pokemon GO was the point of no return for this ip.

I don't care if you're buying the game, feel free to. I just want to know why you're not at all bothered by the fact that they lied to your face? That just seems to me like a definite lack of respect for the consumer.
Like they don't need to Tel you the truth because they know your preestablished loyalty will buy it anyway.
