the sad thing is it actually shows a willingness to actually introduce something good to boss battles - unique influences to the match, something to spice it up beyond "wowee i use sandstorm, much like many other trainers"
unfortunately they chose the most asinine "gimmick" that would use this concept (likely to get people to speak out about it, so that if people say they want unique battle gimmicks game freak can go "nuh uh you guys said you didn't like it")
