>professional review:
SwSh is a healthy new approach to an old formula that, while lacking in surprises and technicality, still has enough of a charm to bring in new fans and keep the old charmed.
>What I actually meant
The game is absolute formulaic garbage to sway casuals and for fanboys to shill. It would not hold by the standards through which actual games are reviewed, but paid fans and morons will still defend it because Pokémon spent more time with them than their family.
The amount of anti-quality of life tweaks that GameFreak has adopted is borderline mind-boggling, as if they were on purpose trying to alienate their fanbase. Wheter it is hiding configurations behind items that you get midway through the game, or not allowing players not to use EXP Share, it is unexplainable how much time the developers invested in making an inferior game. The so-called 'less tutorials tweaks' are pointless, as GameFreak is not improving the franchise, just undoing SOME of their own previous attempt to make it worse while introducing more problems.
