Can we all agree that, for the most part, the new Pokemon designs are pretty good.

The majority of reviews (even the negative ones) can at least admit that much.

Not really. I think this Gen’s designs are pretty weak overall. There are good ones, but overall I think even the last couple gens had better designs.

I like them a lot, and the gym leader battles are pretty hype. If they were a bit more difficult, it would be kino. Beyond that, the game is barebones.

they're pretty meh all around. Some would be better with small changes, like Eiscue not being my mom's penguin with an ice cube for a head, Sandaconda's head connecting to its rotating collar so it actually has a neck, Appletun's weird drooping eyes, Frosmoth looking incomplete, Galardash having a more majestic mane, Grapploct's weird mouth, etc.

A lot of it is a hair shy of being good and that's what's most frustrating

Mostly a few, but I also ignore some designs if they have good viability. Kind of like how SM had some good designs, but a majority of them ended up being outcasted by tapu's and UB's. I hated the UB's too save celesteela and Buzzwole, probably.

I don't know what you're talking about OP, most people hate them. There are some gems but otherwise the designs are once again a new low for the series.

Eh. Still the worst set of new Pokemon to me. I like maybe 1/4 of them, am indifferent to 1/4 and hate half. Only other one I was split on like this is gen 5, but it still had more winners than this. Just too many flat out abominations this gen.

I even liked SM's UBs more than shit like the new fossils.

As someone who is absolutely obsessed with the fossilmons, this gen was such a disappointment for me. I will say that the two main legends are by far the best we've seen since Gen 3. The pseudo is also the best we have seen in a while. Eternatus is a garbage design and so is the penguin boy. I think the designs are probably the best things about these games, which is such a disappointment.
