After watching the first trailer I wasn’t very impressed, but gave Gamefreak the benefit of the doubt. But in the end none of what was shown really gave me an incentive to buy.

Yes I did. Didn't care for the starters but was excited for a new generation of pokemon. I'm also still excited by the game and can't wait to play Shield on Friday.

I hope everyone either buys or doesn't buy the game according to their personal preferences and enjoys their life.

I watched the trailer and thought that these were somehow going to be the worst games in the series yet. Didn't know what it was but I saw it and thought these games were going to cause the biggest shit storm the franchise has seen so far.

The initial trailer made me think it'll be another Sun/Moon and I was getting ready to finally drop this franchise.
The next trailer made me a bit hopeful, because the wild area looked somewhat promising.
After that it was just a downhill slope without any brakes.

Yeah. I was looking forward to it. I suspected it would 4 or 5 steps above gen 7 in terms of graphics and have an ok story that wouldn't tie to anything before. I knew it wasn't going to be stellar or something worth game of the year. I didn't think they fuck it up this badly. I mean sure on the surface level it only looks subpar. But knowing what we know now it is abysmal.

Canceled when I heard about dexit and decided I would buy used. Been downhill since then, no plans to play SwSh at all at this point.

I think I'm just going to have to accept that the Pokemon franchise isn't for me anymore, there's clearly no passion left in the project. It's the COD of casual JRPGs except COD at least iterates and makes incremental improvements. SwSh is a reskin with less content and various regressions.

Played since gen 1, really disappointing.
