>>41138583It's disheartening anon, but this is just how things work in a consumerist society. Within the confines of our own capitalist culture, it's not about the quality of the product itself, but rather about the profit. Gamefreak has consistently been taking out features from the games ever since their inception, and swapping them with gimmicks to keep things fresh. This is the first red flag. It wasn't until the switch to the 3DS that they started to confuse QoL changes and content as interchangeable elements. Their excuses have been that leaving features behind makes each entry unique, while upgrading content from 2D to 3D is too resource intensive. The people who play these games don't care about the franchise. What they care about is reliving childhood experiences, garnering a sense of accomplishment from beating the game, and then moving on to consume another product giving off a similar moment of bliss. You are not the target demographic. You are asking too much from a series that rides off its brand name. It's ok. You're older now, you can accept it. It's not for you or me anymore. It's that junk food you crave for a minute, it's that one show you put in the background so you don't get bored doing chores, it's that awful song you've heard a thousand times but you go back to it because it's catchy. Pokemon is about profit, not quality. And they know they can bank on nostalgia from older fans, a popular brand name, and young folk whom have yet to develop their tastes. Gamefreak has had YEARS to make an ambitious game with all their monster designs in engrossing environments, with compelling gameplay and a lighthearted story. The passion isn't there. It's just a paycheck for someone at the end of the day. They make the models, they texture the creatures, they rip something off the internet, and then they're done for the day. NOTHING will change this, You don't have agency. You didn't make the rules, but you can choose to leave this and replay old faves.
