I feel bad for GF desu. As far as I understand, both Nintendo and TPC force them to push out these yearly releases on a rushed timeline in order to align with Anime, the TCG, and Merch which make far more money than the games.
GF execs don't have a choice but to lie (if they want to keep their jobs) because their corporate overlords are going to let them say, "Sorry guys, we were forced to cut corners and rush this release because our Parent company wont give us enough time, man power, or money to make a real, complete project."
We've seen it time and time again with other companies, developers don't have a say in what gets disseminated to the public, it is the Publisher of the Games that gives the green light on EVERYTHING.
