are all pokemon viable in single player? can i beat the game even with the weakest water/fire/grass/etc. type pokemons? i like designs of some so i want to play with them but idk if they are viable
i just started playing pokemon hgss

All Pokemon bar some joke Pokemon like Dunsparse or Corsola are completely viable in single player, but even they are usable if you overlevel.
HGSS are probably the worst games to use weak Pokemon in since overleveling is a chore due to the wonky level curve, but yes, you can absolutely still do it.
You'd get away with using unevolved/trash Pokemon in all games with some planning or grinding. I did a baby run of Platinum for fun and it's very possible.

If we're talking Magmar VS Typhlosion, then yeah, it doesn't really matter. MOST Pokemon, even if their BST is lower than their contemporaries, are completely viable and fun to use in single player. I always use Sudowoodo for example, even though he's a real shitter.

yeah, I've beat games with a team of 6 unevolved pokemon, sometimes including shit like abra or skitty in them. Pretty fun challenge, by the way. But to answer your question: yes, you can beat the games with pretty much anything.

He's pretty shit in the metagame online, but he's still pretty good in the single player game. There's no need to worry about which Pokemon is the right one. You can always just level up once or twice and any real difference in stats between Pokemon will be evened out. Like 90% of all Pokemon are pretty shit in the metagame, but sometimes people are wrong and you get stuff like Pachirisu winning VGC.
