Because I can easily beat S/M, US/UM, or X/Y in a similar amount of time that streamers did (between 10 and 15 hours), but “beating” the game is hardly my end game- I want to breed competitive mons, get shiny dynamax Pokémon, collect rare cards, and see how hard the battle tower gets if at all.
