First, saying he "only exists" is stretching it.
Second, being "referenced" in XY means nothing because there is nothing is really stopping the Hiker from existing independently from the Gen 5 protags.
Third, the hiker could very well be talking about NPC Hilbert in B2W2 which doesn't require him to be the canon protagonist.
Besides, my point about BW's mom confusing B2W2's protag for her son/daughter still stands. Even if what you said was true, then you would have to cope with Donuts being a tranny. Lol.
