When the Ability is annotated as "Any" means "Any including Hidden" or "Any excepts Hidden". Some are annotated as "Hidden".

I don't know whether "any" vs "hidden" even matters. You can't get HA unless it's a 5* raid and even then the odds are slim(1/3-1/5 chance).

They seem like a massive chore if there's like hundres possible encounters and you need to get a specific pokemon's HA

Mapping and obtaining the regular raids will be easy. It's the rare, second den that will be awful. I think I'm around 10 hours in on my attempts to get the "easiest" giga, Orbeetle.

I don't care about the actual raids and I am only interested about legality on Showdown.
Are the starters and the fossils the only mons whose hidden ability isn't obtainable as of now? Can I obtain Gigantamaxable Pokémon with whatever ability?

When it shakes out the showdown regular ou will probably only let you use whats available on cart, then have a dexit meta where you can use whatever. The first few weeks will be the wild west where it'll probably be allowed though and they continue to update with hidden stuff from the game.

ctrl f a pokemon in the thing in the op, if its not there its not going to be in game with a hidden ability and even if it is there it might not be depending on what it says. On cart is probably the 400 we knew pre-datamine, shit like the other KANTOOOO starters and meltan will be events.

No, it's trial and error. You need to trigger a rare raid and compare it to the possible listings in the datamine. It also helps to see which berries drop at the end.

Maybe try dens near static corviknights.

Forgot to mention that the water TRs seem to be innaccurate (on a rare toxapex and rare gyarados), so the water den gigas can't be tracked that way. No berries as well.

1) How viable is raiding solo?

I've only seen one raid battle, but from what I understand.
When you solo raid AIs take the spot of other trainers and help you. Don't know how good they are, obviously, but it really should be fine.
You just knock it out, and afterwards you throw any ball at it.

They can self heal statuses. Super fang and % damages scale off original HP. Curse gets through the barrier phase but the damage is too low.

The fight mostly revolves around getting X hits in to break shields.

Multihit moves count as a single hit. They also cannot break the shield then continue doing damage. The shield shatters after the move is done.
