This may just be the optimist in me, but maybe the reason for the lack of features, pokemon, moves, and honesty about gen 8 is because they want us to find out on launch day the post game will be hopping on a tray to cross the galar channel to couriway town to explore, battle, and become champion in the slightly different non-mega timeline version of kalos.
