>>41156607>>41156413But my opinions so far about this game, from all the videos, pictures and everything in between is that the game looks and plays like shit.
The game itself looks like the same old shit you have played for 20+ years but on the surface when you peel off the layers of bullshit you will notice that many features that the franchise has been built upon were removed. Things like limited pokedex, limited movepool, limited items, etc are bad not because they are different but because they limit players choice on a franchise built upon it.
Beyond this removals of features or "streamlining" as our journo friends talking points say the game simply looks extremely unappealing to the eye, specially on a system with great JRPGs like Dragon Quest XI S and Xenoblade 2. This two games alone make the new Pokemon look like it was done by a team of amateur devs in a month. I personally enjoy the Pokemon formula to a point but this new game looks and feels anything but new. It's an understatement to say JRPGs need strong presentation to entice players so it's disappointing how bland and unfinished S/S looks.
Overall I would still need to play the game to really get a feel for it but as someone who plays JRPGs I can tell you Pokemon S/S is total garbage.
