Poipole was a little more important though, it was part of the central axis that the plot of the anime revolved around. It also got a ton more merch and was immensely popular Cheeto Dog was just a major party member and was largely unpopular even when they promoted it because it was literally just uglier Dayroc, and Dayroc was pretty popular already.

Buzzwole is the least popular ultra beast in Japan if you only consider that poll in your pic but sold out fast in almost all merch internationally and only recently got a restock. Xurkitree is supposedly the most popular by a landslide but had stock available for months without selling out.

Silvally got it worse. A pokemon based of a chimera that was a failed recreation of the pokemon god was cast aside to only be used by a boring "rival" npc trainer and have no serious story outside of a single fucking book you can read in the most remote part of the game.

I'd like to assume the Ultra Beasts would show up in Diamond and Pearl remakes, you know around Spear Pillar, Turnback Cave and the Solaceon Ruins.

You know when you go down there in the story and Gladion stands in front of the labs while you and Hau go to the other? You can go to the room Gladion was blocking. It's also where you get the DNA splicers, Prison Bottle and Soul Dew I believe

it also helps that its the most viable rock dog to use of all the 3, its stats are well distributed and tough claws makes accelrock, drill run and iron head hit pretty hard, its actually not a bad mon to use at all (it was one of the members that scored me 50 straight wins on the battle three)
