>>41160700It won't completely change things, just how TPC goes about it. The 3DS era was a constant test of how much shit fans were willing to take, and could easier additions circumvent that. Dexit was clearly planned since SM. Now they've felt a bit of resistance, so will dial it back just a bit. Least on the surface, the dex will be back but not much else will improve. If that gets an okay, they'll start pushing again till they feel fans starting to break.
Pokemon won't have a downfall as such, but the spell around it has been broken. Pokemon isn't special any more. Such regular releases don't help, neither does how heavily they've ran on nostalgia since XY. Even the anime relies on Go now, they chase a trend long after it really blew up. Pokemon is going to become more faceless, though probably not significantly less successful. Just the mainline games will no longer matter.
>>41161016>You know the normies won't care about dexit or the shit story right? No it is clearly something that permeated all levels of the fanbases. The characters are XY levels so will be forgotten in the same way.
>I wonder how the core fanbase's opinions will change after having time to digest and whether or not the normies will stick around. We've seen the whole thing, there isn't anything to process. Fans have chosen a side, the only ones left are those who avoided leaks and are pretty much guaranteed disappointment in at least one area. What a lot of people miss is that even those who support these games do so while not being all that happy. They'll say yeah this all bad but I want to play a pokemon game. The community isn't happy, just domesticated. TPC takes advantage of that but are looking for how hard they can push it.
Normies never stick around, the one who still think it is worth their time will go eh that was a game and then no longer think about it. Not the worst outcome but it isn't creating an enthused fandom either. The game isn't providing much for either group.
