Episodes are in real time. The pokemon planet literally has day cycles that last 22 minutes. Humans sleep 48 times in what we would call a day. It's only been a few weeks since episode 1.

That's irrelevant. The fight that won him the trophy was very lackluster and the opponent who he defeated to earn that victory was nowhere near Alan/tobias. If they really wanted ash to win a league then it should have been against someone who's stronger than anybody ash had ever fought before, Gladion is somewhere around Gary and sawyer in terms of strength. That's why he should have won in sinnoh and kalos.

Not only that but the matches were literally 1v1 until the semi-finals which was a 2v2 and the finals being a 3v3. It's definitely the weakest league yet.
