Why hasn't Pokemon as a video game franchise been bodied by a direct competitor yet? I mean, there are other Monster collect games like Digimon, Ni No Kuni, Yokai etc, but why haven't we got another studio just straight up make a Pokemon game, better than Pokemon, and then just change the name and designs to avoid copyright like what we've seen with what say Stardew Valley, or City Skylines did with Harvest Moon and Sim City?

I mean Pokemon is a pretty fucking bare bones JRPG that really isn't on the standard of JRPG's that get released by much smaller studios, so It's bizarre to me that nobody has attempted to take Pokemon head on yet.
