To be fair most of them did initially dislike it since it didn't fulfill their insane shipping, but they quickly turned around and liked it to stick it to DA MEEN OLD MANBABIEZ once they saw that SW fans were extremely conflicted on it.

This image never made much sense to me, why would you ever compare these two games? They're different in every way. There's zero point in comparing their scores aside from trying to evoke a gut reaction from people who think God Hand should have gotten a higher rating. There's nothing about Imagine Party Babyz that makes it inherently worse than God Hand, it's a completely different kind of game altogether. Comparing them is asinine.

No, I don't call any reviews "fake". I don't pay attention to reviews at all, games are way too complex of a medium for someone to just tell you how it is and for you to just be able to use their experience as a baseline. Ultimately it's something you need to determine for yourself. That's the gamble, is the game worth experiencing in the first place? For me and Pokemon the answer is almost always yes, I enjoy the core gameplay more than anything else, as long as that's intact I can get hours and hours out of a Pokemon game, even one that's lacking the accouterments of previous titles. The only reviews I disregard entirely are the reviews that give any game a 0 or a 10, they're obviously trying way too hard to exaggerate. Games that are a 0 or a 10 are pretty obvious, and it's very easy to tell when a game is neither.

Outside of the whole "too much water" dumbassery, IGN has been giving pokemon a free pass for a while. I remember them giving a low rating (a 7. something) to Monster Hunter Stories and a 9 or so to Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon simply because they had the Pokemon title

99% of the 0-4 ratings in user reviews will be from people who didnt even play the games, so they mean even less than journoreviews. If you read the actual content of the reviews it makes it pretty clear whether you will enjoy the games or not, but if you dont buy it then your "review" about how it is the worst game due to no nat dex is basically meaningless and should be treated as such

Even still imagine party babies sucks ass though, it's one of the worst shovelwares on the Wii and only got good scores because it's Ubisoft. My sister had it and played it once, then went back to playing stuff like Mario Kart and Little King's Story. Even their target audience doesn't like the game so I think using the review as an example of why IGN is awful is completely fair.

A better comparison for this board would be PMD Explorers of Sky getting 4.9 and Imagine Party Babiez getting 7.5. To anyone who has played the former it would be obvious that PMD is better, and being Pokemon there is more crossover in target audience.

No, it still would be an awful comparison because those games are also completely different from each other. The only time it ever makes sense to compare scores like this is if the games are similar.
