It's 12 hours long when you are rushing it. Which is basically the same amount of time it would take to finish any Pokémon game playing it similarly.
As for the post game, it has the same as SM: a "chapter" where you go around fighting monsters that are causing mayhem and end up getting lore; a battle facility with single and double modes; rebattle the E4 (in this case, the Champion Tournament) with some exclusive characters added.

I've been catching Pokemon and been messing around in the wild area, did some raid battles with NPCs and made sure to get every item on the first city, also bought shit for my character and camped a little. However /vp/ will say none of this counts as playing the game.
