I'm in a similar boat. A family member is buying it for me as my birthday gift since they know I like Pokemon but don't follow it so they know nothing about it or why I don't want it.

I'm just accepting it because at that point, the sale is already final. Selling it isn't going to affect GF in any way since they already got the sale.
