Nah, Gen 1-4 leaders are pretty memorable. Gen 5 has quite a few too. Gen 6 are the most forgetable ones. And Gen 7 has a few decent ones.

You could put all the gym leaders side by side and i honestly couldn't tell you which was from which gen besides obvious ones.
Only real giveaway would be the art for the newer gen gym leaders gets progressively better and better.

A good way to know if an NPC is forgettable is if they NEVER appeared in the anime. Did Pryce ever appear in the anime?

yeah he had an episode where he didn't believe in the bond between pokemon and trainer because his piloswine abandoned him years ago when he was injured only to realize the piloswine got trapped in an avalanche and was frozen solid trying to get back to him,

I always remembered Pryce because I liked Mahogany Town enough and being the first Ice Gym Leader stood out to me. Plus I love Swinub/Piloswine.

He plays a pretty big roll in Special. Also his original GSC design is memorable to me. He is n't dressed for the cold and that makes him memorable.

He was cool though, maybe a little boring. A nice but stern old man still gardening after all those years. I think the Japanese gym title for him was "old tree that still blooms" or something. I understand that older people are harder for younger people to relate to though.
