>>41174475That's why we plaster the message to stay objective and show you tried to be charitable in your review of the game onto every thread talking about reviewbombing. I'm going to cut this up into chunks a redditor can read so tourists can follow these instructions too. (Reddit sucks but you know, broken clock...)
First off, review a few good games and a few mediocre games. Give games you love scores like 9.5, give ok games scores around 7.5 or 8. Avoid 10s or anything below 5 unless you're also going to review mediocre games. This gives the account the appearance of legitimacy (not that it's even illegitimate in the first place, but they need proof we're legit.)
After this, for the review proper, be sure to avoid vomiting curse words all over the screen. Like, come the fuck on. Give the game props for the improvements they made that allow for you to make any pokemon competitive-tier, for the few areas that look good, things like that -- this is an objective review, remember. After that, bring up the issues like the dex cut and the lack of polish they claimed they would be able to apply with the time saved by not implementing all pokemon -- shit like the story, the animations, the lack of a postgame, the short playtime, everything that dissapointed you. The ending score shouldn't be rock bottom, but other than ruling out 1s and below, be honest with how you're appraising the game.
We aren't being seething manbabies, we're being honest about how we feel about a subpar entry in a series we love, and we should make it clear.
